ALL IS LOST. . . .

I am sure we all had this thought or feeling at some point in our lives.

Loss is certain in life and the Bible reminds us of that reality.

But our loss becomes the space in our lives for Him to give us what we need.

I thought that it is wise to reckon well with losses, and this way we can reckon very well with the mercies of God.

“when pain is to be born, a little courage helps more than much knowledge, a little human sympathy more than much courage, and the least tincture of the love of God more than all” C.S. Lewis

SPEAKING OUR LOSSES AND FINDING REFUGE:

We read in the Bible that trials will strengthen us, but so often our losses seem to undermine our faith. This raises a question: how do we respond to God in the midst of loss? Loss, especially in the Psalms, is an invitation to speak from our hearts to God, honestly and boldly. It is in that honest exchange we learn gratitude when we experience his comfort and his peace as He takes us through the process of grieving and letting go.

JOB 2.0: PARTNERS IN SUFFERING AND COMFORT:

What does it actually mean to identify with others in their experience of loss?

How do we provide meaningful comfort?

REDEEMING THE TIME WHEN IT FEELS LIKE THERE’S NEVER ENOUGH:

Sometimes time doesn’t move fast enough and we feel trapped. In other ways it moves too quickly and we feel lost.

Too often we feel victims of time rather than served by time.

How should we be stewards of it? What is the wisdom in “the best use of time”?

LOSS : THE DOOR TO TRANSFORMATION:

Why does the Bible speak so often about suffering?

Does it actually mean that since Genesis 3, the door to blessing passes directly through the curse?

Is it so that we’re changed into the image of Christ only when we face some tragedy in our lives?
